Directory List of Startup Hubs in Vancouver

Vancouver has a growing number of startup hubs with resources to help startup businesses grow with access to funding, professional services and more! These startup hubs are usually in or near the downtown core. Many of these startups are in technology, with an increased demand for services.

At the same time, there is a shortage of artist studios in Vancouver. A total of 152 buildings used as working spaces have disappeared, almost 50 per cent of the buildings identified as having studios for artist in the Eastside Arts District. Called No Net Loss, Plus!, the report found that almost 400,000 square feet of artist studio space has disappeared in the past 10 years, mostly one- and two-storey commercial and industrial buildings.

Vancouver Co-working Analysis

  • Most of the co-working spaces are open-desk and the event spaces are too small (up to 20 people) or too big (over 1,000 sq. ft.). They are also mostly for people working on laptops, not for healers and creatives.
  • The most affordable co-working downtown Vancouver is from $30/day for a desk, meeting rooms from $30/hr all the way up to monthly rentals for private offices. https://www.vancubers.com/
  • The most affordable monthly rental spaces are working studio spaces (100 to 600 sq.ft.) at Betamax Studios, suitable for healers and creatives. These are priced depending on the light and location, and range between $250 to $1000 per month, short-term and long-term. http://betamaxstudios.com/
  • The most affordable event rental space (approx. 500 sq. ft.) in the healing community is a daily rate of $210 for 35 to 40 people at Rhodes Wellness College. https://www.rhodescollege.ca/about-rhodes/facility-rentals/

Conscious Co-Working at Studio Prices
